Outreach for the Homeless
in Omaha and Council Bluffs
Donation of time and talent is welcome, no matter how large or small. There are many opportunities to help the less fortunate in our community.



MINISTRY 1: Meals
BREAKFAST
When: Fourth Saturday of each month, 7-11 AM
Where: St. Peter Church, 2706 Leavenworth St, Omaha, NE
What is Needed: 6-8 people; volunteering options include buying and preparing the food when possible, as well as serving and clean-up
LUNCH
When: Fourth Sunday of each month
Where: Mohms Place, 1435 N. 15th St., Council Bluffs, IA
What is Needed: 6-8 people; volunteering options include buying and preparing the food when possible, as well as serving and clean-up
Additionally, we distribute adult bikes, jeans, shirts, boots/shoes, and hygiene products during these meals.
MINISTRY 2: Apartment Furnishing
When: Tuesday mornings, 7:30 – 11 AM (pick up)
Wednesday afternoons, 4:30 PM (truck loading)
Saturday mornings, 7:30 – 10 AM Where: Tuesday – various Omaha locations
Wednesday – LOMB Storage Shed
Saturday – various Omaha locations
What is Needed: Volunteers able to carry furnishings into and out of truck and storage shed. While the threat of COVID-19 is still active, our Saturday morning process no longer includes moving items into the clients’ apartments. We have shifted to a drop off process. Older teens are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
MINISTRY 3: Donations / Sorting
When: Wednesday evenings, 6 – 7:30 PM
Where: LOMB North Storage Shed
What is Needed: Items that assist with basic survival, and adults or kids 8th grade or older to sort:
– Tents / Tarps / Sleeping Bags
– Large size socks
– Underwear
– Adult bicycle w/ padlock
– Toilet paper
– Bug spray
– Tampons / Pads
– Deodorant
– Chapstick
– Plastic silverware / Plates
– Adult rain poncho
– Snack packs (easy on teeth)
– Toothbrushes / Toothpaste
– Large backpacks
– Pop-top foods (fruit, soup, stew)
– Flannel shirts (L & XL)
– Hooded sweatshirts (L & XL)
– Thermal Tops and Bottoms (L & XL)
– Winter hats, heavy gloves
– Adult winter coats
