Thanks to all who came out to celebrate our patron saint last Wednesday at our annual St. Patricks Day Family Hooley. It was a great evening as always.

We would also like to thank the Craoi na Tire Studio of Irish Dance for being our entertainment for the night, AOH-Sarpy County NE. Ancient Order of Hibernians for helping us serve our meal, and all the parishioners who helped prepare for a successful event.
What is divine providence? Divine Providence is the wise and loving act of God which guides all creation from its origin to its ultimate end. We take part in divine providence by freely cooperating with Gods plan for our lives, to trust in Gods will. Even when we place our trust in God, we can still experience the results of sin. After all, evil lurks in the world. What challenges to faith have you experienced? How did God guide you through them?

Who knew the most people in the Bible?
I don’t know but Abraham knew a Lot.
Congratulations to our Irish Person of the Year - Steve Otto! We are so grateful for all that you do behind the scenes at so many events. You are a blessing to our parish!
Are you coming to our Lenten Reflections for Women: The Beauty of Gods Design? Its this Saturday, March 15. RSVP on our parish website, stpatricksgretna.org.
Did you know, Hooley is Irish for party. Join us for a family friendly way to celebrate our patron saint, St. Patrick, tomorrow!
What would have happened if Jesus gave into the temptation in the desert? Sin would have grown, and salvation would have been denied.

We face the same kind of temptations Jesus did, and like His, our choices have effects. The choice for self - sin - fuels the growth of vices, also known as the seven deadly sins. Which fan the flame to destroy a sense of morality on an individual and a communal level. However, one choice for others can help tear down sin. One choice for good can help change the world. The desert choice of Jesus made that hope a reality.

Have you ever seen personal sin grow, like a disease? Have you ever seen sin stopped by the choice of one person?

Least of My Brethren food pantry is having a Fareway Stores Gretna gift card drive throughout Lent. The cards will be used to purchase frozen chicken, hamburger, and hotdogs. You can help us by giving one dollar a day for the 40 days of Lent towards a gift card. If you would like to participate in this project, please drop off the Fareway gift card to the parish office during regular office hours. If Fareway is not convenient for you, gift cards from places like Hy-Vee, Walmart, and Dollar General, allow us to purchase other food items in need. God bless.
The Church traditionally dedicates the month of March to the special veneration of St. Joseph, whose feast day is March 19. He was chosen by the eternal Father as the trustworthy guardian and protector of his greatest treasures, namely, his divine Son and Mary, Joseph’s wife, says St. Bernardine of Siena. He carried out this vocation with complete fidelity until at last God called him, saying Good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord. Due to St. Josephs leadership of the Holy Family, he has been declared the protector and patron of the universal Catholic Church.
You cannot pick quality fruit from plants not known for such produce. Like fruit, the acts of a person reveal their character. Ultimately, a person is known by the quantity and quality of their speech. The sheer amount of verbiage does not make someone a good person. And the person who tries to hide their true intentions will soon be found out. Words must match action, and action must match words. How can you bare good fruit by your words and actions this week?
